Out with the old and please in with the new…

It has been a long while since I have posted anything on here. The end of 2009 came like a ton of bricks crashing down on me. From working killer hours (about 80 hour weeks) to a lot of stress caused by work, it was catching up with me quickly. Before I begin, lets concentrate on December as that was the exciting month…

The beginning of December my Grandfather ended up in the hospital. We still don’t know the real reason that this happened, but he did end up there for a while. He was admitted for a week, then transferred to a rehab center, so they could monitor him and try to get him back on his feet. Now the real interested part about all of this is that he is one of those really angry people and doesn’t want anyone to visit him. So we had that going for us...He is expected to come home tomorrow.

Then on December 15th, I was laid off. It was a total shock to me, but I guess I had it coming. I was in the same exact place almost 4 years to the day. So I guess I can’t hold a job longer than 4 years. It hurt to know that I was working so very hard and got nothing for all that hard work, but that’s another story…

So things were looking up, right? Well not really…

On Christmas Eve, I got a call from my Grandmother saying that she fell and was really dizzy. My mom and I ran over to her house (not really ran, but you get the idea). We looked at her and tried to figure out what the best course of action was. We decided that it would be best to get her to the ER as we weren’t exactly sure what happened and didn’t know what was going to happen. So you know when you were little and saw the signs that said Christmas is canceled this year? Well it was kind of like that. We spent the entire Christmas Eve in the hospital making sure she was okay and that she was going to be okay.

My grandmother spent a few days in the hospital and she thought it was a vacation, which was really nice, she had some really outstanding people watching her and making sure that she was taken care of. She came home a few days later, which was really nice. I spent most of a day cleaning her house for her, sweeping up leaves, cleaning the floor, kitchen, etc. Just so things would be clean when she came home.

Now you may be asking yourself what about the job hunting. Well that has been interesting. See I was laid off on a Tuesday, that Saturday I had an interview with an insurance company, which isn’t me, so I passed (can you imagine me as a door-to-door salesman? I rest my case...). I have been trying to get out of the video game industry after pushing myself to the limits over the past year. I think it is about time to move on and find something less stressful. I have been on a few interviews and am just playing the waiting game. There have been some things of interest but still haven’t heard back. So we are just waiting and seeing what will happen.

2010 will be a better year for me, I know it will, just need to get back on my feet.

I have been making it through by the unconditional love that my amazing girlfriend has been providing. She is really how I make it through my day, she always makes me smile and makes everything better. I don’t know what I would do without her and I don’t know what I could do without her. She has been there by my side every step of the way.

Hopefully 2010 will be a good year for everyone. As it has been a rocky start for me. I’m told that things happen for a reason, and to me I’m still waiting to find out what that reason is. Hopefully it will happen soon and that everything will be fine…

2 things:

1. Thank the stars for Michelle. If it wasn't for her, I would probably take a flight right now to LA and give you 10 slaps for some good luck. :P

2. Lifes never been the same since I left you by yourself in LA some time ago. Must be the absence of my sewper aura of greatness that left you in a void. 15 hours of time zones away really screwed up your alignment and trajectory points with your planets and stars. Do you need me to go back to LA and change your fortune, other than rushing you to get the official license for having kids? :)
